The Community Rights Coalition of Jefferson County fully support local farmers. Jefferson County Washington is blessed with many working farms. These farms produce dairy, organic produce, wine and cider, eggs and poultry, beef, flowers and seeds, and medicinal and culinary herbs to name just a few of the products.The county is also blessed to host several amazing organizations that support and enhance the local farms.
A few of those organizations are:
Citizens for Local Food – is dynamic and active group who initiated the Jefferson County Farm Survey and are now involved in developing a farm policy for the county. Their motto is: “in service to the people of Jefferson County to create a local, secure and just food system that strengthens ourcommunity, ecology and economy”

The Port Townsend Food Coop county and the Port Townsend community support a vibrant and growing Food Co-op. With over 15,000 members and a strong local foods and local farm support program, this organization is often the heartbeat of the local foods movement. Jefferson County Farmers Markets – a wonderful support for local farmers and farm product vendors. Hosting several farmers markets throughout the county, the award-winning markets are key to the financial survival of our local farms and for allowing citizens to support a local economy.
