The Charter Task Force handed out a nicely detailed flier about Charters. Port Townsend/Jefferson County citizens can amend local governmental systems to allow citizens to use initiatives which would place issues on the ballot locally. A number of counties & cities in Washington have adopted Charters.
The task force asked all participants to wrestle with this idea, generate questions, and be prepared to discuss chartering at our June 1st meeting. The task force will email everyone material they have prepared. Please review it, and come on the 1st to discuss this. The June 1stmeeting will mostly be dedicated to this discussion.
O’Neill generously has met QUUF’s requirements regarding our meeting for free at the QUUF facility. Julia Cochrane also volunteered to substitute for her. We all agreed that any request for the use of the facility will go through O’Neill or, when O’Neill is not available, Julia.

Be Part of The Work That Reconnects
The Work That Reconnects arises in direct response to the ecological, social, and economic crises of our time. It helps people understand and meet these challenges with clear eyes and open heart, without letting emotional overwhelm induce psychic numbing, panic, or scape-goating. The Work That Reconnects helps us discover our innate connections with each other and with the self-healing powers in the web of life. This aim is essential for the emergence of a life-sustaining culture. We aim to:
• provide people the opportunity to experience and share with others their innermost responses to the present condition of our world.
• reframe their pain for the world as evidence of their interconnectedness in the web of life, and hence of their power to take part in its healing.
• provide people with concepts– from systems science, deep ecology, or spiritual traditions– which illumine this power, along with exercises which reveal its play in their own lives.
• provide methods by which people can experience their interdependence with, their responsibility to, and the inspiration they can draw from past and future generations, and other life-forms.
• enable people to embrace the Great Turning as a challenge which they are fully capable of meeting in a broad variety of ways, and as a privilege in which they can take joy.
• enable people to support each other in clarifying their intention, and affirming their commitment to the healing of the world.
Blessings to All, and the Sacred Living Body of Earth~
